Does today's rant prove that Rush Limbaugh doesn't care about the American people?

He wants him to fail.....he wants there to be misery. What kind of man does that? Feel free to disagree.Does today's rant prove that Rush Limbaugh doesn't care about the American people?
It's one thing to say ';I think these policies are bad and they will not succeed'; and a completely different thing to say ';I hope he fails';. I don't believe that Limbaugh wants the country to fail (I think his an a-hole, but I don't think he hates the country) but he is admitting that he would rather see the president of our country fail than have to admit that he himself was wrong. Why is it that the same people who demonize the Dixie Chicks for saying they are ashamed that George Bush comes from their home state are the same ones who hope Obama fails?Does today's rant prove that Rush Limbaugh doesn't care about the American people?
Why thank you for ';allowing'; me to disagree.

Rush Limbaugh believes (as do many others) that President Obama's policies will be, by nature, socialistic bordering on communistic. His cabinet and sub-cabinet selections, as well has his history of associating by choice with socialists and communists from his youth to the present bear that out.

Since Rush believes capitalism is the engine of freedom, and wealth for all, then he must - if he is true to his beliefs - oppose those who believe otherwise.

I, for one, hope President Obama has a successful presidency. But, my standards for that success are probably opposite the typical liberal's standards of success. For Obama to succeed (IMHO) he must resist the urge to perform the tasks the extreme left-wing part of the Democrat Party has virtually demanded he perform.

And after 36 hours in office - with the suspension of the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammad - mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, and the soon-to-be confirmation of tax cheat Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary - he is getting off on the wrong foot.
I didn't hear his rant; only the radio ad clips for his show. I heard him in 1986 or 1987 when his show was on KFI in L.A. I loved the show, and I was wrong to do so. Lim is a person not closely acquainted with truth and when he went deaf a few years ago it was God giving him a clue. Yes, Lim wants misery and his main concern seems to be money and sponsorships. Lim is a grubber after money and a hater of people.
Isn't it great that we live in a country that we can voice our opinions, whether they agree or disagree. Not in a country that we would be beheaded for disagreeing with the current government. If you don't like what Rush has to say there are hundreds of other stations or papers etc for you to listen to. Hopefully America continues to be that free and open country.
No, but Rush should have just said it was a stupid question. It's like asking a liberal, ';What if Rush Limbaugh were president. Would you want him to succeed?'; It was an absurd, stupid question. You could rephrase the question thus: ';If a guy who has really bad ideas became president, would you want him to succeed?'; It's a dumb question. None of us thinks a president with bad ideas can succeed, but most of us still want America to prosper. But there's a contradiction built into the question that makes it impossible to answer. Of course, that's why they asked it.
Well, some of the answers here show just how effective brainwashing can be. So does my (still) best friend, once a Conscientious Objector during the Vietnam War, who moved to the golden hills of Reagan-land and actually listens to Rush on his car radio.

It's hard to talk with him when he goes off after a few stiff ones quoting the Limbaugh party line. Impossible to talk with him -- I mean hard to listen which is all one gets a chance to do.

Those who suggest or imply that the Obama agenda is ';Communist'; should refer to their dictionary and to our own sad history some 50 years ago when Joseph McCarthy rose to prominence. The idea that such thinking is 'American' was best confronted by then US Attorney Welch who publicly said to McCarthy the memorable words that would do just as well for Mr. Limbaugh: ';At last, sir, have you left no sense of decency?';
Rush was taken out of context. He said he wanted Obama's policies to fail so America could succeed; he said nothing about wanting America to fail.
He is and always has been a racist pig!! one of his quotes, ';I mean, let鈥檚 face it, we didn't have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I鈥檓 not saying we should bring it back; I鈥檓 just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark';.....
Reading your question, I assume you do not read very much. He does not want misery. He wants to prevent the spreading of misery.
