When you consider history, aren't Americans who rant about immigrants guilty of rank hypocrisy?

Let's face it, the vast majority of you are from European stock. Your ancestors invaded an already populated area of land before waging a campaign of ethnic cleansing. Your culture even glorifies this slaughter and dresses it up as something righteous - cowboys, westerns, etc.





I'd consider that to be illegal immigration.





So my question to you people is, why do think a white immigrant is better than a non-white one ?When you consider history, aren't Americans who rant about immigrants guilty of rank hypocrisy?
Do you think that the govt has legitimate authority? Based on your rationale it cannot, since it all goes back to property theft and ethnic cleansing. If you do, then you also have to acknowledge that immigration is a matter which can legally be managed by the govt.





Did we steal the land from the indians? Maybe some of it. What gets me is that there are rich people who are rich because of land. But let's trace this back. At some point someone claimed ownership of the land and didn't have to pay a dollar for it. That's a load of BS. So, now I get screwed because someone arbitrarily claims ownership of land. They had a comment about this on NPR. THe speaker was saying how when it comes to illegal immigration, people tend to use the term illegal when speaking of latinos, but when speaking of european illegals, they usually just say immigrants. And why use the word illegal, they dont call regular criminals illegal, an illegal thief, an illegal murderer. The proper word should be undocumented workers. Since thats what they are.
First of all, that's in the past. Most people today know that what happened was wrong. Secondly, we have no problem with immigrants, we KNOW that everyone in the US is from some where else. What this whole issue is about is ILLEGAL immigrants, those who broke the law to get into the country. This is a flawed argument and I wish people would wise up and stop using it.
People ARE NOT RANTING ABOUT IMMIGRATION, THEY ARE RANTING ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!!! When the Europeans first came to America, the native population had no immigration laws, therefore they were not illegal immigrants. They may have been a conquering, occupying force, but that has been happening since ancient times. Look at Alexander the Great and the Roman Empire for examples.

It's not Immigrants that people are complaining about it's people who are here illegally that are the concern. So far I've not heard of complaints based upon skin color so why would you try to imply racism to a non racist issue. Todays world is somewhat different than the world you are comparing it to. Unless you have some kind of a suicide wish and have no concerns about the ease in which a lot of the illegals gain access here. It would be just as easy for a terrorist to enter as a worker looking to support his family. Besides, the countries that critical of the US for the immigration policies are countries who deport without regard for the deportee.

we like to celebrate him too we get a day off work because he discovered America and today since all spanish speakers are considered mexican by ignorant anglos he would be the target of our hatred those mexicans instead of our beloved hero

If the Mexicans want to invade and take by force then they should bring it on. But not sneak in and take my tax dollars to teach and support them. If I walked into your house house, sat down, and said feed me and take care of my kids while i steal your jobs and give you NOTHING in return, and oh by the way, when i make enough i am gonna bring the rest of my family into your house so you can feed them to and they can bring there family up.. You would tell me to get lost.Also the fact that they are marching with their flag high(in some cases higher than ours) and flying ours upside down is just one fact that shows they care nothing for the country they are supposedly trying so hard to become a part of.
YES, I am happy to hear there is still some people with a sense of history and working neurones in the USA today.

Everybody wants a peice of the proverbial pie. Our out of control economy is promoting a nationalistic hostile finger pointing. Illegal immigrants are scapegoats for a increasingly fragile economy. Id rather pay the schooling for an illegal immigrants mothers baby than let a corporation get by avoiding paying taxes.
I agree that it is hypocritical. Back then it was a horrible thing that the Americans/Europeans did, but using the same logic as you are using then it is a horrible thing that the Mexicans are doing now. It's not as bad as what happened with the Americans and the Native Americans, but it is killing our culture, disobeying our laws, and making things unfair for legal immigrants.
so by that logic they are invading us now lets see the indians at least fought back ,so why shouldnt we ?
Its not the immigrants who come here legally its the ones who sneak across the borders without going through the proper channels. Get a clue.


This country was founded on immigration yes, and the white europeans took the land from the Native Americans Yes, but now that a few hundreds years have passed, There is a civilized way of immigrating.


If you dont want to immigrate here then dont, but if you do, do it through the proper channels.
In search of a New and better Home, no one was keep from entering, but with out communication, of one language or another there is never peace. So any one who does not speak or learn to speak English, should not consider them self an candidate for American Citizenship. I truly wish they had chose Greek.
I absolutely agree. The Indians and the Spanish were here long before the English, and at one point, there was no human life here. So, technically, we're all immigrants ... wasn't that the whole idea of the United States in the first place?

Yes, they have. That is what I've wanted to say to everyone who says or thinks ';The whites did it for a good cause. They wanted to make things better. It's all forgotten,';





Because how would you like it, if someone in a different nieghborhood decided to come to your neighborhood and make everyone there live in one house?
